Carine Assouad
Ms. Assouad, Vice President of Colony Capital SAS, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, consummation and management of new investments in Europe.
Prior to joining Colony in 2011, she worked at the French Sovereign Fund (FSI) as an Investment Manager. Previously, she spent 6 years in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs and then Lehman Brothers / Nomura in Paris where she was involved in various LBO, M&A, restructuring and IPOs transactions mainly in the infrastructure, construction, retail and capital goods sectors.
Carine graduated from ESSEC Business School in Paris. She holds a master's degree in civil engineering from Saint Joseph University in Beirut.
Dilip Awtani
Mr. Awtani, Managing Director of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new distressed investments in Europe.
Prior to joining Colony in 2009, Mr. Awtani spent seventeen years in investment banking, specializing in Corporate Finance and Distressed Debt. Most recently, he was Executive Director and European Leader for NPLs and Distressed Investments for GE Capital in Europe. Between 2002 and 2003 Mr. Awtani founded and acted as Chief Executive Officer of Abacus Applications a software startup with Thomson Financial. Prior to Abacus Applications, Mr. Awtani spent 10 years in corporate finance in Germany, Italy and the UK. Mr. Awtani began his career in 1988 as a systems engineer for IBM.
Mr. Awtani received a master's degree in business administration from the SDA Bocconi, and a B.A. from Lehigh University.
David Belford
Mr. Belford, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new investments, primarily in North and South America.
Prior to joining Colony in 2008, Mr. Belford was an Associate in the Originations division at iStar Financial Inc. in New York. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Belford worked in the Investment Banking Division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc./ Credit Suisse First Boston Inc. in New York and Los Angeles and on the Foreign Exchange desk at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. in New York.
Mr. Belford received his B. Com. from Queen's University in Ontario, Canada, a Master of International Affairs from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School.
Georges Cabon
Mr. Cabon, Vice President and Financial Director for Colony Capital SAS, is responsible for financial and legal administration of Colony's European operations.
Prior to joining Colony in 1998, Mr. Cabon spent over 20 years in banking at a subsidiary of Crédit Lyonnais. He then spent five years as an officer for a consulting firm working as interim controller of companies in bankruptcy proceedings.
Mr. Cabon received his license in law from the University of Paris, Assas.
Alain L. Chetrit
Mr. Chetrit, Managing Director of Colony Capital SAS, is responsible for the identification and evaluation of new investments in Europe with particular concentration in France, Spain, and Portugal. Mr. Chetrit is responsible for the Colony office in Madrid.
In 1996, Mr. Chetrit received a master in civil engineering from the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos Canales y Puertos in Madrid. Mr. Chetrit received an M.B.A. equivalent from the HEC business school in Paris in 1998.
Aleksandra Dubrova
Ms. Dubrova, Vice President, is responsible for the evaluation, consummation and management of investments in Europe, with a particular focus on Italy. Ms. Dubrova also assists with investor relations activities for Colony.
Prior to joining Colony in 1998 as an Associate in the California office, Ms. Dubrova worked as an Associate at Goldman Sachs, Fixed Income and as an Analyst in Merrill Lynch High Yield and Real Estate M & A groups. Between 2000 and 2003, Ms. Dubrova worked as a Chief Operating Officer of a software startup, Praedea Solutions, Inc.
Ms. Dubrova received her BS in Sciences (concentration in Finance) from SUNY, Albany in 1994 and her MBA from Stanford University in 1998.
Brent Elkins
Mr. Elkins, Senior Vice President, currently works in the investor relations department interfacing with the Firm's current and prospective investors on all aspects of capital formation across the various platforms of the Firm.
Prior to joining Colony in 2009, Mr. Elkins was an Executive Director of the Real Estate Private Capital Markets group at Morgan Stanley. He originally joined Morgan Stanley's investment banking division in 1996 where he performed real estate advisory and principal investment activities in the firm's New York, London, and Boston offices. He moved to AMB Capital Partners in 2002 where he launched AMB's investment expansion into Japan and led global fundraising as the firm's Director of Business Development before returning to Morgan Stanley in 2007. Previously he held positions at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Trammell Crow Company.
Brent received his B.A. at Princeton University and an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.
Kyle Forsyth
Mr. Forsyth, Vice President, of Colony Advisors, LLC, is responsible for various asset operations and management.
Prior to joining Colony in 2000, Mr. Forsyth was with Amanresorts and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
Mr. Forsyth received his B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1996.
Christophe D. Fournage
Mr. Fournage, Managing Director Colony Capital SAS, in addition to management oversight activities, is responsible for distressed assets and real estate investments with a concentration on industrial products.
Prior to joining Colony in 2004, Mr. Fournage worked in the telecom industry as Managing Director of Corvis' French subsidiaries. Prior to Corvis, Mr. Fournage spent 10 years in the gaming industry as Managing Director of SciGames France and as General Counsel of the French national lottery company, Française des Jeux.
Mr. Fournage received his masters degree in business law from the University of Paris X in 1992.
Christian Fuqua
Mr. Fuqua, Associate Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, consummation and management of new investments.
Prior to joining Colony in 2008, Mr. Fuqua was an analyst in the Technology, Media & Telecom and Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking groups of Bear Stearns in New York.
Mr. Fuqua received a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
Philippe Garnier
Mr. Garnier, Financial Controller of Colony Capital SAS, is responsible for accounting and reporting for the European operations.
Prior to joining Colony in 2001, Mr. Garnier was a public accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, Horwath International and KPMG where he was an audit manager. Mr. Garnier focused on clients in the hotel and leisure and fashion and fragrance industries.
Mr. Garnier received his master in Finance and Audit from Ecole Supérieure des Affaires of Grenoble in 1985.
Marie-Luce Geahchan
Ms. Geahchan is Secretary General for Colony Capital SAS. Mrs. Geahchan first worked with Colony in Europe in 1999 as General Manager of ABC Hotels, the joint-venture created to manage the CGHS portfolio (36 hotels, 32 companies) mainly located in Paris and European Capitals.
Prior to joining ABC Hotels, Mrs. Geahchan was the Financial Manager of Immobilière Hotelière, Deputy Managing Director of "SICOMI" Frankoparis Sicomi and manager of the financial engineering department of the Kuwaiti French Bank in Paris.
Mrs. Geahchan received a PhD in Economics from the University Saint Joseph of Beirut / University of Lyon II in 1975.
Andrew C. Goodman
Mr. Goodman, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, consummation and management of new investments.
Prior to joining Colony in 2011, Mr. Goodman was a Vice President at Shorenstein Properties LLC where he focused on debt and equity investments in office assets located in major markets on the East Coast. Prior to Shorenstein, Mr. Goodman was an analyst in the Real Estate Investment Banking group at Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Goodman received a B.S. from Cornell University.
James Herbert
Mr. Herbert, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation and consummation of new investments, with a particular focus on extending Colony's presence and activities in non-real estate areas.
Prior to joining Colony in 2011, Mr. Herbert was a Vice President in Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley in San Francisco where he focused mergers & acquisitions and debt and equity financings for West Coast clients in the consumer, retail and industrial sectors.
Mr. Herbert received his M.B.A. from Stanford Business School in 2006 and his B.A. in Economics from Stanford University in 2004.
Stefan Jaeger
Mr. Jaeger, Senior Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, consummation and management of new investments in Europe.
Prior to joining Colony in 2011, Mr. Jaeger was a Director within Barclays Capital's real estate investment banking and real estate finance divisions where he focused on large-scale acquisition advisory, restructuring and financings across Europe. Prior to that he worked in Citigroup's Global Special Situations Group, where he was responsible for the acquisition of real-estate backed non-performing loan portfolios primarily in Germany. Mr. Jaeger started his career in the securitization and asset finance group of Credit Suisse First Boston.
Mr Jaeger received his BSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics in 2001.
Allen Lau
Mr. Lau, Managing Director of Colony Capital in Asia, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, consummation and management of investments in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to joining Colony in 2005, Mr. Lau was a vice president in Investor Asia Limited in Hong Kong, an Asia focus private equity fund sponsored by Investor AB of Sweden, where he was responsible for deal sourcing, execution and post acquisition monitoring of investments in the Greater China region. Prior to Investor Asia, Mr. Lau was a management consultant at Bain & Company, where he had extensive experience in advising major private equity funds in market assessment, valuation, deal structure, post acquisition strategy formation and performance turn around.
Mr. Lau received a B.S. in Computer Science from the Seattle Pacific University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago GSB.
Brian Lee
Mr. Lee, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new investments, primarily in North America.
Prior to joining Colony in 2007, Mr. Lee was an analyst in the Investment Banking group of Bear Stearns in Los Angeles. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Lee was an audit associate in the Real Estate practice of KPMG in Los Angeles.
Mr. Lee received his B.A. in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003.
Philippe Lenglet
Mr. Lenglet, Managing Director of Colony Luxembourg, is responsible for supervision and management of Colony's Luxembourg holding companies. Mr. Lenglet is also active in the identification of business opportunities, as well as new capital and investor relations in Europe.
Prior to joining Colony in 1997, Mr. Lenglet was a Senior Vice President with Crédit Lyonnais Americas, where he was responsible for opening and managing several U.S. branches and managed the U.S. banking relationships with Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Lenglet received a degree from Ecole du Batiment et Travaux Public de Vincennes, France, and is a 1979 graduate of Harvard Business School's Management Development Program.
Rommel A. Marseille
Mr. Marseille, Senior Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, currently works in the investor relations department interfacing with the Firm's current and prospective investors on all aspects of capital formation across the various platforms of the Firm.
Prior to joining Colony in 2007, Mr. Marseille founded Carrefour Capital, LLC and worked at Diamond Edge Capital Partners where he raised capital for various private equity, hedge fund and real estate clients. Mr. Marseille started his professional career as a public official in the administration of New York City Mayor David N. Dinkins where he worked on the City's capital program and various economic development projects. He subsequently worked as an investment banker at Artemis Capital Group and Dain Rauscher structuring tax-exempt and taxable municipal debt for public issuers across the country. Mr. Marseille later worked as an advisor at a boutique investment banking firm providing advisory services on leveraged lease transactions to public sector clients.
Mr. Marseille graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz. In addition, Mr. Marseille holds an MBA in Finance from SUNY Albany.
Ryan M. McManus
Mr. McManus, Vice President - Financial Reporting and Analysis, is responsible for financial reporting communications with investors, as well as fund and investment forecasting and portfolio analysis.
Since joining Colony in 2001, Mr. McManus has served in a variety of roles including corporate and general partner accounting and operations, and most recently portfolio management and analysis.
Mr. McManus received his B.A. in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001.
Andrea Nicholas
Ms. Nicholas, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for capital formation and investor relations interfacing with the Firm's current and prospective investor base across the Firm's various platforms.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Nicholas was responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new investments for Colony Capital, LLC, primarily in North America. Prior to joining Colony Capital, Ms. Nicholas was an Associate at Goldman Sachs International in London where she worked for four years for the Securities Division in Sales and Trading.
Andrea received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business with a focus in global management and her B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.
David A. Palamé
Mr. Palamé, Assistant General Counsel of Colony Capital, LLC, is based in Colony's New York office and is responsible for various legal affairs and investor relations activities for Colony Capital.
Prior to joining Colony in 2007, Mr. Palamé was with the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where he specialized in the formation of private equity funds, commercial real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Following law school, Mr. Palamé served as a law clerk to the Honorable William J. Rea, United States District Court for the Central District of California at Los Angeles.
Mr. Palamé received a B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Varun Pathria
Mr. Pathria, Senior Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, executing and managing new and existing investments.
Prior to joining Colony in 2004, Mr. Pathria practiced real estate law at Metricom, a Paul Allen and Worldcom venture, before returning to business school. Mr. Pathria also worked at Kibel Green in Los Angeles specializing in turnaround advisory and restructuring.
Mr. Pathria received his B.A. in Business Economics from UCLA in 1996 followed by a J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 1999. Mr. Pathria subsequently received his M.B.A. in Finance and Real Estate from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Neale W. Redington
Mr. Redington, Senior Vice President - Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Colony Capital, LLC is responsible for financial accounting and reporting for Colony-sponsored investment partnerships and related affiliates and subsidiaries.
Prior to joining Colony in 2008, Neale was an audit partner in the real estate and hospitality practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP where he was the U.S. partner in charge of hospitality services. During his twenty years with Deloitte, Neale worked in both London and Los Angeles and developed expertise in hotel accounting together with experience in investment fund accounting, asset valuations, tax implications of real estate transactions and SEC filings.
Mr. Redington, a Certified Public Accountant (license inactive) and a Chartered Accountant in England & Wales, received a B.Com.(Acc.)(Hons.) in 1987 from the University of Birmingham in England.
Leon Schwartzman
Mr. Schwartzman, Vice President and Treasurer of Colony Advisors, LLC, is responsible for managing the firm's treasury activities, as well as financial and investment forecasting and portfolio analysis.
Prior to joining Colony in 2002, Mr. Schwartzman was an Associate with the Real Estate Investment Banking Group of Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown.
Mr. Schwartzman received his B.A. in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997.
David Schwarz
Mr. Schwarz, Senior Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, consummation and management of new investments, primarily in North America.
Prior to joining Colony in 2010, Mr. Schwarz was a Principal at Warburg Pincus LLC, where he originated, structured and managed real estate investments throughout the United States.
Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he worked at the Carlyle Group, where he focused primarily on US real estate acquisitions.
Mr. Schwarz received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of at the University of Pennsylvania.
Michel P.E. Sengsuwan
Mr. Sengsuwan, Managing Director, Real Estate Development of Colony Capital SAS, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and management of real estate development investments.
Prior to joining Colony in 1998, Mr. Sengsuwan was responsible for €1.5 billion in real estate assets at the CDR, the defeasance organization of Crédit Lyonnais. From 1987 to 1993, he was Director, responsible for real estate financing and development projects (hotels and office buildings) at BIMP, a bank of the Michelin group and a French insurance company. From 1982 to 1987, Mr. Sengsuwan was in charge of real estate investment in European office buildings and hotels for BAII, a consortium of 38 Arab and non-Arab interests (Kuwait, Abu Dhabi authorities, BNP, Bank of America, and Sumitomo). From 1974 to 1981, Michel Sengsuwan was in charge of a portfolio of investments in real estate developments for a real estate bank subsidiary of Banque Paribas.
Mr. Sengsuwan received his Licence És Sciences Économiques from the Université de Paris I - Pantheon-Sorbonne in 1972 and his Diplôme d´Études Comptables Supérieures (D.E.C.S.) in 1979.
Sylvio S. Tabet
Mr. Tabet, Managing Director of Colony Capital in the MENA Region, is responsible for the identification, evaluation and consummation of new investments, primarily in and with the MENA Region.
Mr. Tabet works with the investor relations department interfacing with the Firm's current and prospective investors from the Mena Region on aspects of capital formation across the various platforms of the firm.
Prior to joining Colony, Mr. Tabet worked as an independent consultant for clients investing or operating in the entertainment and media industry. Mr. Tabet was also involved in the film industry as a producer, director and screenwriter.
Mr. Tabet received an M.F.A degree in Film Directing from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
Gregory C. Thomas
Mr. Thomas, Vice President, Director of Information Technology of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the overall management and direction of Colony's global information technology needs.
Prior to joining Colony, Mr. Thomss was the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at SunCal Companies where he was responsible for the strategic direction, planning, and execution of Suncal's global IT function. Prior to that, his experience comprises more than 13 years experience as a Senior Manger with Ernst & Young, Kenneth Leventhal & Company and KPMG in the real estate advisory areas of those firms. During his tenure, he provided technology and business process services to a wide variety real estate and financial service companies.
Mr. Thomas received a B.S. in Systems Analysis & Finance from Miami University (Ohio) in 1985.
Duyen Tran
Ms. Tran, Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for all financial activities related to the general partner including global corporate accounting operations, general partner operations and reporting and special projects.
Prior to joining Colony in 2006, Ms. Tran was a Vice President and Controller of The Blackstone Group from 2002 to 2006 where she was responsible for accounting and financial reporting, investor reporting and performance analysis. She was also involved with portfolio company reporting and analysis and various strategic planning projects. She began her career in public accounting in 1995 with KPMG and with Ernst & Young in 1999 where she was a manager serving private equity clients on financial and operational due diligence.
Ms. Tran, a Certified Public Accountant, holds a B.A. degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Riverside.
Brian C. Wilkinson
Mr. Wilkinson, Vice President and Controller - Opportunity Funds, is responsible for financial reporting, accounting, and partnership compliance of global opportunity funds and related investments.
Prior to joining Colony in 2011, Mr. Wilkinson served as a Group Vice President with Archstone. During his fifteen years with Archstone, Mr. Wilkinson held various leadership roles in the areas of accounting, finance and investment management. He began his career in public accounting at Coopers & Lybrand as a Senior Audit Associate specializing in the financial services, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries.
Mr. Wilkinson, a Certified Public Accountant (active), received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1992.
Andrew Witt
Mr. Witt, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new investments with a primary focus on distressed debt initiatives.
Prior to joining Colony in 2007, Mr. Witt participated in the funding of multiplepre-venture capital businesses before he founded and managed a business in the healthcare sector which was subsequently sold.
Mr. Witt received his MBA from the University of Southern California and B.A. in International Relations with a focus on International Economics from Stanford University. Following his time at Stanford, Mr. Witt spent two years in Italy as a professional athlete and was also a member of the 2000 U.S. Men's Volleyball Olympic Team.
Jae Yi
Mr. Yi, Vice President of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new investments.
Prior to joining Colony in 2010, Mr. Yi was a Assistant Vice President of Acquisitions at Rockwood Capital in Los Angeles where he focused on the acquisition of commercial real estate properties throughout the Western U.S. Before joining Rockwood Capital, Mr. Yi worked for CoastWood Capital, a boutique real estate private investment firm, focused on investments in both public and private real estate assets with a primary focus on equity and related structured investments in retail, land development, seniors housing, specialty residential and other operationally intensive real estate. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Yi worked in the Partners Group of AEW Capital Management, specializing in the acquisition and disposition of opportunistic real estate investments. Mr. Yi began his career within the audit group at KPMG.
Mr. Yi received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Southern California.
