Mr. Sammann, Principal of Colony Capital, LLC, is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation of new investments.

Prior to joining Colony in 2008, Mr. Sammann spent twelve years in investment banking, specializing in real estate finance. Most recently, he was Managing Director and Head of North American Large Loan Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities at Deutsche Bank, where he oversaw the origination of more than $30 billion of highly structured real estate-secured financings, including several significant leveraged buyouts and other M&A-related transactions.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2002, Mr. Sammann spent six years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where, as a Vice President, he was responsible for relationship management, development, analysis and execution of debt capital raising strategies for REITs, opportunity funds and other real estate companies.

Mr. Sammann received a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Duke University, and a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
