Wilson Magee is President of CIM and the portfolio manager of real estate securities investments at the firm, where his responsibilities include the day-to-day operations of CIM. Mr. Magee has over 23 years experience in direct and indirect property investments as well as experience in the investment management of U.S. equity portfolios.
Prior to joining CIM in January 2005, Mr. Magee was the co-manager of real estate securities investments at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Magee was a portfolio manager for Grantham, Mayo Van Otterloo & Co. (“GMO”), where he managed U.S. and non-U.S. real estate securities investments and was responsible for investments in a variety of sectors in the U.S. Active Division. He also served on the Boards of Directors for real estate private equity funds originated and managed by Citigroup. Prior to GMO, he was a principal of The Penobscot Group, a leading real estate securities buy-side research company.
Before his affiliation with Penobscot, Mr. Magee operated a private real estate consulting business that represented institutional investors and developers, and was also affiliated with Aldrich, Eastman & Waltch LP. Mr. Magee is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mr. Magee is a 1977 graduate of Tulane University, where he received a B.A. in History and Literature, and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Tulane College.
