Associate – New York, NY

The Associate will gain broad exposure to a range of real estate asset classes and strategies through both debt and equity investing. Working closely with senior executives of the sale-leaseback and net lease team to underwrite investments for both private funds and public vehicles managed by Colony Capital, LLC, this role will have the opportunity to take part in dynamic corporate finance transactions in a broad range of sectors, including: entertainment, retail, hospitality, and education industries. The Associate will gain extensive exposure and experience with originating, structuring and executing sale-leaseback transactions. Colony Capital, LLC has an extensive global footprint and corresponding infrastructure, which provides Colony Capital's acquisition team with proprietary market knowledge, sourcing capabilities and the local presence required to identify and execute complex transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial analysis and underwriting process for new investments
  • Perform due diligence and research for potential investments across a variety of real estate asset classes
  • Work directly with senior executives on new projects and initiatives

Staff Accountant – Santa Monica, CA

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accounting for assigned investments and partnerships. This includes the preparation of journal entries, wire transfers, reconciliations and analyses. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for certain quarterly financial statements and assisting with capital fundings, capital calls, distributions, and fee calculations.

General Accounting:

  • Prepare general journal entries
  • Prepare system generated and manual wire transfers
  • Accrue monthly interest expense and management fees
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations/analyses
  • Prepare certain quarterly and year end reports for co-investment entities
  • Prepare certain portions of the quarterly and year end reports for the main funds
  • Assist with annual audit

Cash Management:

  • Monitor daily cash activity
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Track line of credit borrowings and repayments
  • Assist with capital calls / distributions

Other:
