Underwriting Analyst – Santa Monica, CA

Colony Mortgage Capital, LLC is seeking an Underwriting Analyst. The underwriting analyst will underwrite commercial real estate loans secured by office, industrial, retail, hospitality, multifamily and mixed-use assets. The Underwriting Analyst will report to the Head of Underwriting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create financial models and assist in preparing credit committee presentations
  • Work with origination team to determine appropriate loan structure based on inherent risks in requested financings
  • Reconcile property level operating statements
  • Analyze and gather market and economic information including rental and sales comparables, vacancy rates and market supply and demand fundamentals
  • Perform site visits for underlying loan collateral
  • Review third party reports received from vendors to determine accuracy of information and soundness of conclusions

Qualifications:

Report Developer - Business Applications – Santa Monica, CA

Colony Advisors, LLC is seeking a Report Developer with previous experience in the finance or banking industries or experience working with finance/accounting departments. In this role the Report Developer will participate in the reporting and analytics development, enhancement, and maintenance projects.

HR Generalist – Santa Monica, CA

Colony Advisors is seeking a stellar HR Generalist to provide support in functional areas of human resources, with a strong emphasis in recruiting, temporary-staffing, on-boarding and personnel records maintenance.  This position will work in the corporate office supporting multiple entities within the U.S. and abroad. Accounting Manager – Irvine, CA

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will manage the daily accounting department activities to ensure that financial and operating reports are timely and accurately reflect the condition of Colony's global operating companies.

Our company is seeking a Commercial Loan Restructuring Specialist II who will be responsible for management and oversight of a portfolio of performing and non-performing commercial real estate loans nationwide for at least a six month assignment.

Our company is seeking a REO Disposition Specialist who will manage the marketing and disposition of a portfolio of REO assets, including, commercial and residential land and retail, office, industrial, apartment, and special purpose properties located throughout the United States. The REO Disposition Specialist will hire and manage local professionals to market and dispose of assets in a timely manner pursuant to company guidelines. He or she will gather market information and report on market trends, negotiate with prospective buyers, prepare sale submissions for approval, oversee the closing process and ensure deadlines are being met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned properties to comply with established disposition strategies
  • Market and liquidate properties after foreclosure while achieving maximum financial recovery from the sale

Senior Commercial Loan Restructuring Specialist – El Segundo, CA

Our company is seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Restructuring Specialist who in collaboration with Senior Management of the Colony AMC will be responsible for the management and oversight of a specific pool of performing and non-performing commercial real estate loans nationwide.  Also will mentor CLRS I & II.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating resolutions of delinquent loans, which may include but not be limited to modifications, discounted payoff, and legal actions to protect the interest of the lender.
  • Designing and implementing a workout (rescheduled / forbearance) loan payment plan.
  • Presenting proposed workout strategies to investment committee.
  • Enforcing loan documents.
  • Oversee the analysis of properties and corresponding markets to recommend appropriate dispo­sition strategies, in accordance with approved policy.
  • Maintaining rela­tionships with and directing the efforts of commercial real estate brokers, potential purchasers, title and escrow companies, court-appointed receivers, attorneys, property management companies, and other ven­dor firms that may become involved in a loan workout situation.
  • Negotiating transaction documents and managing various transactions through closing.
  • Negotiating financing / restructuring terms for troubled projects, for example a loan to a company in bankruptcy reorganization, allowing the borrower to bring the project to completion.
  • Analyzing finan­cial statements, business history, and creditworthiness of borrowers to determine overall collection strategy.
  • Performing on-site property inspections.
  • Developing appropriate strategy and budgets to manage and dis­pose of foreclosed properties that become non-earning assets.
  • Coordinating on-site inspections, engineer­ing studies, or construction bids to bring an unfinished proj­ect to completion, if applicable.
  • Assisting with REO leasing and sales negotiations with potential purchasers and their agents.
  • Directing and coordinating the activities of staff support employees, and prepare reports and forecasts detailing the management and disposition of real estate owned.
  • Knowledge and understanding of real estate law, finance and accounting procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and effective collaborative working style.

Qualifications:

  • BA in busi­ness administration, finance, real estate or related fields with a strong record of academic achievement
  • MBA preferred
  • 3-8 years proven asset management experience with commer­cial real estate and loan workouts
  • CPM, CCIM or RPA designation a plus
  • Yardi experience a plus, but not necessary
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Very detail oriented with the ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills Polished professional with exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent inter­personal, organizational, written and verbal communication, and project management skills, including the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports.
  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Must have thor­ough knowledge of real estate project finance and familiarity with account­ing, bankruptcy law, and commercial law dealing with real estate projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel from home office in El Segundo CA to all properties

Senior Analyst – El Segundo, CA

Our company is seeking an Asset Management Analyst / Senior Analyst who will be involved with all facets of asset management operations and be responsible for portfolio reporting, forecasting and analysis. The position will serve as support to the Asset Manager and be a liaison between the asset management and the acquisitions, legal and accounting groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis/modeling, including discounted cash flows, asset valuations, and cost benefit calculations.  This includes pro-forma creation within Excel, strategic scenario analysis for sell/hold recommendations
  • Preparation and maintenance of monthly asset management reports and consolidation and review of annual operating budgets on property and portfolio level
  • Maintain accuracy of asset management database and portfolio metrics
  • Conduct market and submarket analysis and reporting on rents, competition demographics, supply and demand drivers
  • Assist in preparation of investor reporting, including quarterly updates and responding to specific investor requests
  • Participate on regular portfolio-related conference calls
  • Various analysis of accounting reporting, real estate taxes, risk management, property info. etc.
  • Assistance with implementation of internal asset management system development/enhancements

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience in financial modeling, preferably from an investment firm
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related
  • Able to work well within a team and possess superb analytical, quantitative, problem solving, writing and communication skills
  • Independent thinker, high level of initiative and strong work ethic.  Ability to work well with little direction or as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong grasp of financial principles and concepts that are crucial to underwriting real estate (IRR, NPV, cap rate, return on cost, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Flexible with a positive attitude and willingness to work additional hours and weekends to complete projects when necessary
  • Expertise in Excel, Word, Argus (recommended) and PowerPoint
